Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources and the University of Sharjah Graduate 250 Holders of Professional Diplomas

Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, in cooperation and coordination with the University of Sharjah, graduated 240 participants in 13 programmes of professional diplomas for the employees of the government entities at the Eastern Region and for the job seekers in the city.

H.E. Dr. Tariq Sultan Bin Khadim, Member of Sharjah Executive Council, Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, accompanied by H.E. Dr. Humaid Mjol Al Nuaimi, Director of the University of Sharjah and Dr. Radhi Al Zubaidi, Director of the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development at the University, honoured the graduates.

The ceremony was attended by H.E. Abdulla Mahmoud Al Hammadi, Director of Khor Fakkan Customs Centre, Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Director of Branches Affairs Department at Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources and Saif Doiafes, Director of the Head of Department Office.

In his speech, H.E. Dr. Tariq Bin Khadim, Chairman of the Directorate, congratulated the graduates on their successful completion of the programme, confirming the importance of such professional diplomas in enhancing the skills and enriching the knowledge that support the employees in their field as well as the job seekers in their path towards employment.

He added: We realise that the development of the human element is one of the most important priorities that contribute to preparing the future generations and which our wise governments have set in mind within the strategies of the Government of Sharjah, emanating from the vision of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, may God preserve him, represented by the development of knowledge, skills and capacities of our national cadres to cope with the local and international developments and challenges.

H.E. confirmed that the Directorate pays great attention to implementing professional diplomas for the employees at the government entities and job seekers, holders of university degrees of various disciplines and of all levels of education, in coordination and cooperation with the University of Sharjah, considered one of the most prestigious universities worldwide in the qualification and training of the necessary competencies, able to cope with the current and future challenges at light of the sustained development, within a scientific methodology and clear specialisation and foundations, as the graduates will form a scientific breakthrough towards the various work sectors to achieve more excellence, success and creativity.

H.E. expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the University of Sharjah, represented by the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development, to all government entities participating in the professional diploma programmes, and all employees and job seekers affiliated with the programme, wishing them success in their educational and practical lives.

On the part of the University, H.E. Dr. Radhi Al Zubaidi offered his congratulations to the graduating employees and job seekers and added: We celebrate today, with all pride, the graduation of a new group who advances in life after being provided with all the education and knowledge it needs to face the requirements of this life, within the environment of the University of Sharjah, whose mission is based on excellence in all the education it offers to its students as required by the labour markets, guided by a global scientific renaissance built and guided by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah (may God preserve him), until it achieved major global achievements in terms of academic, scientific and technical level and sustainability.  The five-year plan of the professional diplomas for employees and job seekers in the Emirate of Sharjah was formulated and blessed by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Ruler of Sharjah, President of the University of Sharjah, may God preserve him, and I feel that it is our duty to extend such congratulations to the graduates who have completed the professional diploma requirements, each within his specialty, as the professional education you received in professional diplomas, whose effect will be reflected on the Departments and institutions where you will work, will have a great impact on the progress of the work of such departments and institutions, and consequently a significant progress on the volume of their turnover and their duties and obligations in the national development that they seek.

He explained that this batch of graduates represents only the thirteen programmes that were implemented in the Eastern Region, where the number of participants was 240, namely:  Professional Diploma in Legal and Administrative Affairs, Professional Diploma in Environmental Inspection, Professional Diploma in Customs Inspection, Professional Diploma in Inspection, Professional Diploma in Social Responsibility, Professional Diploma in Banking Services, Professional Diploma in Tourist Guidance, Professional Diploma in Preparing Government Leaders, Professional Diploma in Social Work - Group 1, Professional Diploma in Social Work - Group 2, Professional Diploma in Advanced IT, Professional Diploma in Nurseries Supervision, and Professional Diploma in Government Communication and Electronic Media.

He added: All these goals have been confirmed in the scientific accumulation and professional culture of each learner in the programme and the teaching and training hours received by the students during the period of implementation, under the supervision of a group of competent and experienced teachers, members of the faculty of the University of Sharjah. One of the indicators of interest in such programmes is the competition between the trainees to obtain the highest scientific assessments, where competitive grades were given based on competence, participation and research conducted by each trainee, and evaluated by a scientific committee of lecturers from all programmes.

What distinguishes these diplomas is that the participant should make a research in his job field and this research will be supervised by a university professor, and it will have 50% of the assessment grade.
