Waffer Programme is a governmental initiative launched by Sharjah Department of Human Resources in March 2013. It is the first initiative in terms of discounts at the level of the Government of Sharjah. It covers 80 government agencies, employing more than 25 thousand employees.

The initiative aims at providing the opportunity, to the private sector companies and organisations, to participate in a Programme offering special discounts to the employees of the Government of Sharjah and local retirees, which is intended to drive economic growth to the benefit of the employees participating and benefitting from the Programme.

A website with a classification of the participating companies according to their activities has been launched. Such website is updated periodically to provide immediate service 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to all employees working under the umbrella of the Government of Sharjah to view the advantages and discounts offered.

Seasonal offers are also sent to the e-mail of the government employees and seasonal offers are also posted on the social media such as “Instagram” for Waffer Programme, in addition to the exhibitions held at the headquarters of the Department and also in all government departments to introduce the latest joining companies to the employees.
