Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources received applications from job seekers via the online registration service at the Directorate, through its government platform, at the 22nd National Career Exhibition in Expo Centre Sharjah, which will be held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, may God preserve him. The exhibition will continue until 11 February.
The job seekers can register online through the service available at the Exhibition, as such service will allow them to register and enter their data into the job seekers’ database of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources at the Government of Sharjah.
This method will enable all the government entities and institutions having job vacancies to view the job seekers’ CVs without the need to print and bring several copies of the CV to the  administrators in charge of the employment at the government entities present at the exhibition.
The Directorate will also, through its platform, respond to all the job seekers’ inquiries, provide professional advice on the current and future labour market requirements and guide them towards the most appropriate career path, conduct data updates to the job seekers registered at the Directorate, introduce the Directorate’s methodology followed in coordination with the government and private entities to support the job seekers in the field of registration, qualification, field training and nomination for job interviews.
The Directorate also offers, during the exhibition days, free specialised training programmes and sessions to the graduates and job seekers visiting the exhibition, in the various professional skills and legal knowledge, most notably education on the career planning skills, behaviours of the seekers of professional life and basics of business analysis. These programmes are held in groups during the exhibition, in order to accommodate the largest number of graduates and job seekers.
A workshop entitled (My Job, My Behaviour) was presented by Saleh Mohammed Al Zaabi, Legal Advisor at Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, aiming to establish the concept and culture of work, considered as the basis of the behaviour required at the work environment and the standards adopted by the business organisations for the evaluation of the performance of the job applicants, so that they may enter the work community knowing all about their ethics.
A training programme was also implemented under the title (Basics of Business Analysis), presented by Dr. Mansour Jassim Al Shamsi, Human Resources Advisor at the Directorate, a lecturer and trainer. The main subjects of the programme focused on the basic skills required by the analyst, types of thinking to enable the person to conduct integrate analysis, how to identify problems, scientific analysis method, conditions that must be met by the problem-solving work team, quadrant analysis and nature of the current UAE labour market.
The Directorate also holds job coordination sessions with government and private entities participating in the exhibition, in order to discuss the mechanism of cooperation in providing job opportunities to all job seekers regardless of their specialisation and help them occupy vacant positions. Job coordination sessions were held with several banks, insurance companies, telecommunications companies and a number of Federal and local entities at the Emirate.
In light of the results of these sessions, future coordination meetings will be held with the entities to provide job opportunities to the national cadres and cooperate with them in organising open days for employment and organising job interviews according to the needs of such entities.
The Directorate also offers its full readiness to the cooperating entities to qualify and train the candidates for the vacant positions in all fields, by providing them with the required knowledge and skills according to the jobs for which they are nominated, in order to be able to pass the interviews and reduce the gap between the skills of the job candidates and the job requirements. The Directorate is also keen to follow up after employment takes place to ensure job stability for the appointees.
It seeks, through this important national event, to attract skilled Emirati graduates and job seekers, within the framework of its intensive efforts to enhance their integration into the labour market and invest in their energies and creativities.
The Directorate had invited national job seekers of various specialties and academic qualifications, through its social media accounts, to visit the exhibition and profit from the employment opportunities available, to communicate directly with employers and with representatives of government entities and private companies present at the exhibition, to market themselves and their competencies, and to learn about the nature of jobs and the various professional sectors.
