Sharjah City For Humanitarian Services

Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) is a local non-profit organization founded in 1979 as a branch of the Arab Family Organization in the Gulf region, aiming to advance the Arab family and develop the social services it needs. On October 10, 1995, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, issued a decree under edict number 4/1995, declaring SCHS as an independent organization that enjoys legal personality and full legal capacity to direct necessary legal actions to achieve its goals and have financial and administrative independence. SCHS is considered the first institute in UAE to provide specialized services to persons with disabilities as His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of UAE, Ruler of Sharjah and Honoree President of SCHS, officially opened SCHS on Sunday evening, October 21, 1979 Our Vision To be a leader in Advocacy, inclusion, and empowerment for persons with disabilities in the United Arab Emirates and the Arab world. Our Mission We strive to reduce the causes of various disabilities through early intervention and community outreach. We are advocates aiming at the inclusion and empowerment of persons with disabilities through education, rehabilitation, and job placement to shape independent, self-reliant individuals in society.
