The Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR) organised a training programme entitled “Government Records Management System” in cooperation with the Sharjah Archives, as part of ongoing efforts to develop professional competencies and enhance government work practices. The programme targeted employees of government entities in the Emirate of Sharjah working in the field of records and documentation.
The programme aims to raise participants’ awareness and professional skills in records management, in line with best practices, and to reinforce compliance with regulations governing government documents.
Held over four days, the programme covered several specialised topics, including the Records Law and its executive regulations, concepts and types of government records, procedures for auditing public records, preparing and implementing file classification systems, assessing retention periods, sorting public records, managing vital and classified records, and preparing storage rooms in accordance with approved standards.
The organisation of this programme reflects the commitment of both entities to efficiently manage government records, achieve sustainability, and ensure information governance across government bodies in the Emirate.
