31 October, 2025

The Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR) organised a dialogue session titled “Your Digital Safety Starts With You”, as part of its ongoing efforts to spread knowledge and enhance institutional awareness across all cities of the Emirate.

The session was held at Al Dana Hall, Oceanic Hotel, in Khorfakkan, with the participation of Sharjah government employees.

The aim was to strengthen digital culture among government staff and underscore the importance of cybersecurity as a cornerstone of institutional development and the safe, efficient continuity of government services.

Expert insights on cybersecurity

The session featured First Sergeant Nada Al Suwaidi, a Cybersecurity Technician at the Sharjah Police, who covered several key topics.

These included fundamental cybersecurity concepts, safeguarding government data, secure digital transformation, and the role of employees in promoting digital security.

The session also highlighted the risks of social engineering and online fraud, the importance of protecting personal data of citizens and staff, and the future of cybersecurity in the era of artificial intelligence.

Leadership perspective

His Excellency Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Member of the Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources, emphasised that the department gives special attention to cybersecurity, viewing it as a shared responsibility that begins with the individual and extends to the institution and society as a whole.

He noted the importance of such initiatives in building comprehensive digital awareness, embedding the principles of protection and safety within the government workplace, and enhancing employees’ readiness to tackle accelerating digital challenges.

Expanding learning across the Emirate

His Excellency Al Zaabi added that holding sessions across all cities of the Emirate reflects the Sharjah government’s commitment to empowering all employees with learning and professional development opportunities by delivering knowledge directly to their workplaces. This approach promotes equal opportunities and fosters a unified work environment characterised by efficiency and institutional responsibility.

Securing the digital future

He concluded by emphasising that strengthening cybersecurity is a cornerstone for protecting the achievements of digital transformation and ensuring a sustainable, secure work environment, contributing to Sharjah’s vision of a leading, digitally empowered government.
