SDHR follows up on Document Management System

03 December, 2025

The Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR), in coordination with its Documentation Office, received a specialised team from Sharjah Archives. A series of meetings were held with various departments to follow up on the implementation of the document management system for both private and identical documents.

The meetings, which extended over a full week, encompassed the department's various offices and branches. They focused on monitoring the implementation of retention periods and the approved classification plan for private departments, as well as monitoring the implementation of the document management system for identical documents.

The meetings included discussions on the updated database and classified electronic documents, in addition to reviewing the latest developments in the system's implementation. Updates related to files, documents, and work procedures were also discussed, in preparation for integrating them into the retention period system, the classification plan, and the document management system for identical documents, in coordination with Sharjah Archives.

Implementing highest standards of governance

Through field visits, the team examined the paper files that were recently transferred to the archives hall and discussed the mechanism for organising and arranging them according to the standards and conditions approved by the National Archives, ensuring their readiness and safe preservation. These meetings embody the Sharjah government’s direction towards establishing the highest standards of governance and efficiency in document management, and unifying preservation and management methodologies, thereby enhancing the sustainability of institutional memory and raising the quality of the government system in the emirate.
