Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources and Air Arabia signed an Agreement to join Waffer Programme

Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources signed an agreement with Air Arabia Group to join Waffer Discounts Programme, in implementation of the Programme’s strategic plan to conclude strategic partnerships and savings contracts that serve Waffer cardholders. The signing took place on Monday, January 23, 2023 at the Directorate’s headquarters in Al Liyah, Sharjah.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Eng. Omar Khalfan bin Huraimel Al Shamsi, Member of Sharjah Executive Council, Chairman of the Directorate of Human Resources, on behalf of Waffer Programme, and Mr. Adel Abdullah Ali, CEO of Air Arabia Group, on behalf of Air Arabia.
The agreement grants Waffer cardholders special discounts on selected packages’ bookings. Air Arabia is one of the largest private sector companies, and it is the first and largest low-cost airline in the MENA region, serving more than 190 global destinations from its various centres of operations.
In turn, Waffer Programme seeks to achieve qualitative additions and to build strategic partnerships that support its objectives and contribute to the development of its services provided to more than 80,000 beneficiaries, including all employees and retirees of Sharjah government, retirees holding Sharjah family book, employees of companies members in Waffer Programme, and beneficiaries from different categories. It also benefits more than 909 companies and institutions, within 30 diverse commercial categories.
 
Concerning the agreement, His Excellency Eng. Omar Khalfan bin Huraimel Al Shamsi, Member of Sharjah Executive Council, Chairman of the Directorate of Human Resources appreciated this partnership that is in line with the wise visions and directions of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, may God preserve him, in achieving integration between the government and private institutions and sectors, to enhance the partnerships that are based on reaching common goals, improving performance and service offered to individuals, striving for continuous improvement that embodies the best aspirations of the wise leaders of Sharjah.

He stressed the importance of the partnership between Waffer Programme and Air Arabia Group, as the latter is an important economic player in the region, which supports the Programme's endeavours in achieving the integrated well-being of the society. It also targets a vital and widely used sector among the beneficiaries of the Programme, i.e. the travel sector, which is witnessing a growing boom in the current era.
Adel Ali, CEO of Air Arabia Group, said: We are honoured to sign this agreement and join Waffer Programme, which is keen to raise the level of services provided to employees and is in line with Air Arabia's commitment to supporting the local economy in the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE in general. At the end of the signing ceremony, His Excellency Eng. Omar Khalfan bin Huraimel Al Shamsi appreciated the cooperation with Air Arabia as a strategic partner in the file of qualification and employment of job seekers, as part of the endeavours to promote job opportunities in the private sector and the aviation sector in particular, where the possibility of continuous future cooperation was raised, which was welcomed by Air Arabia.
The signing ceremony was attended by Jawaher Saif Al Oud, Director of Events and Activities and Director of Waffer Programme, Abdullah Yousif, Director of Strategic Planning Office and Saif Duaifes, Director of the Chairman Office, from Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, and from Air Arabia Group, Mr. Jassim AlKooheji, General Manager of Government Relations, and Mr. Abdul Rahman Bin Tuleaa, Director of Executive Affairs.
