SDHR professionally directs students through ‘Targeting’
26 May, 2021
The Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources (SDHR) has launched "Targeting" vocational counselling programme for 2021 high school students in partnership with Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA).
The programme provides Emirati students with professional counselling services to help them understand the mechanisms of requirements, and needs of the labour market, as well as the scientific and academic specialisations required in that market. It introduces them to labour laws in order to help in selecting suitable university majors based on labour force demands and to make it easier for them to find the right job.
The programme helps students by arranging joint meetings, workshops, seminars, lectures, and discussion panels in collaboration with the Sharjah Special Education Authority by utilising the remote training system to bring in experts, consultants, and specialists. Many essential issues are covered in the workshops and seminars, including personal skills and self-leadership, time management skills, communication skills with people throughout Corona's time, preparing and creating a CV, and preparing for personal interviews.
The "Targeting" programme aims to improve students' interaction with labour market requirements by understanding ethics of work, citizenship, and production. It helps link the specialisation to future employment. It also prepares students to face challenges and obstacles, bringing their visions to life.
