SDHR trains its employees on adopting innovative practices

The Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources (SDHR) will hold the e- foundation Programme under the theme “Institutional Innovation and Human Capabilities Building”.
Coinciding with UAE Innovation Month, the programme aims to stimulate employees of government bodies to adopt innovative practices nation-wide.
Sharjah government bodies, agencies and institutions, at all professional levels, take part in the programme, which is held virtually via Microsoft Teams.

The programme also intends to familiarise employees with the UAE future innovative vision, its efforts and achievements in this area. Moreover, the Programme endeavours to empower employees with the concept, nature, skills and methods of innovation, and to create and develop projects that support work fields.

The programme explains the importance of innovation in achieving institutional excellence, competitiveness, improving performance, encouraging cooperation and rationalising expenditures. It also tackles the challenges in the stage of rapid development, competitiveness of countries, system change, electronic opportunities and resistance to change.

On the UAE's innovative efforts, the programme defines the National Innovation Strategy and its seven sectors, namely technology, health, water, education, renewable energy, transportation and space. 

The programme focuses on the importance of innovation in the workplace through dealing with a number of important points, which are integrating innovation into the agencies' strategies, promoting and recruiting talents, creating a supportive and stimulating culture for innovation, building networks of relationships at the entity level, communication, openness and access to information, measuring impact and exchanging experiences.

The organisation of this programme comes in the context of the innovative efforts and practices adopted by the Emirate of Sharjah in raising the innovative skills of government employees to develop initiatives and ideas that contribute to the advancement of society.

In his remarks about the programme, Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadem, member of the Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, stressed the importance of transforming innovation into institutional work in which everyone adopts development plans and strategies to form a unified work system that relies on innovation as a basis for employee investment.

He pointed out that the Directorate attaches utmost importance to supporting the field of innovation, and highlights, through its training and qualification programmes, the latest in this regard so as to develop the government work system in the emirate and provide government services in line with the vision of the UAE and its wise leadership, and facing future challenges through innovative ideas.
