Waffer Programme at Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources renews Cooperation with Skyline University College to Support the Education of the Government Employees

Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources has renewed its joint cooperation agreement on “Waffer Loyalty Programme and Discounts offered to Sharjah Government employees” with Skyline University College in order to provide a wider choice of educational services offered by the Programme and to support the educational achievement of Sharjah Government employees and their families.
By virtue of this agreement, Sharjah Government employees of various occupational levels, holders of Waffer card and holders of high school diplomas and undergraduate degrees, as well as their families, will be granted exclusive discounts on the tuition fees for the undergraduate and master’s programmes upon registration, according to the specified conditions.
The agreement renewal was signed by HE Dr. Tariq Sultan Bin Khadim, Member of Sharjah Executive Council, Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, and Mr. Nitin Anand, Executive Director of Skyline University College, in the presence of Firas Al Tabbaa, Deputy Director for Public Relations, Jawaher Seif Al Oud, Director of the Events and Activities Office at the Directorate and Manager of Waffer Programme, Abdullah Youssef Al Ali, Director of the Strategic Planning Office and several officials from both sides.
The agreement aims to expand the opportunities of cooperation in the field of university studies of all levels, improve the job performance by attracting cadres to university study, increase their academic options, raise their abilities and educational qualifications, and develop their skills to enhance their roles in the business field.
Concerning this joint cooperation, HE Dr. Tariq Sultan Bin Khadim, Chairman of the Directorate, said that this agreement reflects the visions and instructions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, may God preserve him, in terms of taking care of the human cadres and providing them with the necessary education and knowledge to form the solid foundation of societies.
He praised the continuous partnership with Skyline University College, considered one of the leading entities that joined Waffer Programme upon its launch in 2013. He pointed out the importance of such cooperation, as it benefits at least 150 employees on an annual basis to study and gain discounts.
He added that through the renewal of this agreement, the College allocates a grants fund with a total value of AED 15 million to all the employees of Sharjah Government, in the form of discounts on tuition fees, in cooperation with the Directorate of Human Resources, for the holders of Waffer cards and their families, in each of the undergraduate programmes in Business Management with international business specialisations, Accounting and Financial Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Marketing and Retail Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Human Resources and Psychology, and Public Administration; undergraduate programmes in IT, Institutional Computing specialisation, and master’s programmes in Business Management within the specialisations of Leadership and Strategic Management, International Business and Marketing, E-Governance, Strategic Human Resources Management, Sustained Development, Financial Management and Project Management.
He confirmed that the Directorate is working hard by all available means to motivate the employees to complete their studies, to urge them to improve their educational level through the incentives and facilities, and obtain the higher certificates and positions so that they have more influence and effectiveness on their families, professions and society.
He stated that the renewal of this agreement is part of the plan of Waffer programme to achieve sustainability and provide distinctive services to all the employees of the departments, institutions, establishments and authorities of Sharjah Government, whose number exceeds 30,000 employees in more than 85 Government departments and authorities, in order to make them happier and provide an encouraging work environment for them. He confirmed the keenness of the Directorate to strengthen the relations with the educational institutions such as Skyline University College as it is a strategic partner in providing distinctive services to the government institutions at the State level, in order to meet the aspirations of the wise leaders in achieving the wellbeing of humans in the Emirate of Sharjah.
