The National Programme 2019 for the Rehabilitation of New Employees of Sharjah Government was launched at Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, in order to complete the implementation of the directives of HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, may God preserve him, by approving the appointment of 724 job seekers considered as eligible for urgent appointment, according to the categories specified by His Highness.
It started on October 20th and will continue until November 20th, targeting the first batch of the newly appointed employees at the entities, departments and bodies of Sharjah Government, amounting to 147 male and female employees. The programme is based on the implementation of an integrated plan that includes the provision of training and enrichment programmes as well as support programmes, according to stages and groups, to introduce the employees who recently joined the government to their job rights and duties all along their career path at the government. It shall also provide the proper guidance in individual skills development, guiding the employees towards the important standards for which every institution is looking in its new employees. The programme will also provide the new employees with the corporate culture coated with the rules of the Human Resources Law in the Emirate of Sharjah, as well as the decisions and circulars complementing said Law. This will help define a right start of the employees’ career path, and create a productive and satisfactory work environment.
The programme’s integrated plan aims to implement its courses and curricula at the Emirate of Sharjah, the Central Region and Eastern Region, to ensure that all new recruits in all the Emirate’s institutions and entities are included, achieving the goal of reaching all new employees in their locations across the various cities of the Emirate.
The national training programme sessions range from introductory courses related to the Human Resources Law of the Emirate of Sharjah, and other courses related to the arts of dealing with superiors, employees and customers, as well as enrichment courses related to the development of the administrative and behavioural skills of employees and their creativity and innovation skills, as well as work ethics and institutional loyalty.
It provides a number of training programmes such as administrative education, aiming at introducing the Human Resources Systems and Laws in Sharjah Government and the Performance Appraisal System to help the employees identify their job duties and determine their objectives that support the achievement of the establishment’s objectives. It also provides courses in creativity and innovation skills to stimulate the use of creative methods and new ideas at work, promoting them in new and unique ways. The programme addresses management skills, such as time management skills, office management skills and reporting skills. It also offers work discipline and work ethics programme, introducing the most prominent ethics of employees, such as integrity, equality, maintenance of general appearance, mutual respect, career development and responsibility. It addresses as well the rights of persons with disabilities, mechanism of application of violations, administrative penalties and grievance procedures.
HE Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim, Member of Sharjah Executive Council, Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, stated to this effect that following the directive of HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Ruler of Sharjah, may God preserve him, to appoint 724 job seekers at Sharjah Government, the Directorate applied the directive of His Highness immediately by developing an integrated plan aiming at qualifying and equipping this new Emirati cadre who will join the government work sector to smoothly engage and integrate into the work environment.
A comprehensive rehabilitation and training programme was set, which includes specialised educational and practical programmes, aimed at developing their abilities and capabilities, in addition to practical field training to train them to perform the tasks for which they were employed, in coordination with their work entities, so that this programme represents the most appropriate start of the new employees at their workplace.
He explained that the National Programme for the Rehabilitation of New Employees falls within the efforts of the Directorate to develop national cadres in order to become the strongest element in the field of work. It is one of the leading programmes to support employees and their institutions, creating a valuable opportunity for them to develop and improve, enabling them to assume their new tasks with all professionalism and functional awareness, confirming the confidence of Sharjah Government in the capacities of UAE nationals and their role as a key element in the sustained development process.
He also confirmed the continuity of the programmes to include all new employees covered by the appointment directives of HE Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Ruler of Sharjah, may God preserve him, according to batches and groups, to ensure inclusiveness and full use of the programme’s outputs.
