Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources held, in its branch in the Eastern Region, the closing ceremony of the Quality and Institutional Excellence Diploma programme, which targeted employees in the field of training, institutional development and human resources, at the departments, bodies and institutions of the Government of Sharjah in the Eastern Region, and lasted for five consecutive working days. The graduates obtained a certificate approved by the American Institute of Professional Studies after successfully meeting all the programme’s requirements.
The programme was part of the Directorate’s training plan aiming at achieving sustainability, leadership and excellence in institutional work, by encouraging and motivating the Government employees to join such diploma programmes on an ongoing basis in order to increase the employee’s work efficiency.
The aim of the diploma is to provide participants with the principles of quality and institutional excellence, identify the concepts of quality and individual and institutional excellence, the difference between quality and excellence, as well as the concept of quality and the stages of its development and principles.
The diploma programme focused on several aspects, mainly the study and analysis of potential errors in the application of the Total Quality Management (TQM) approach, practical training on the development of a plan for continuous improvement, tools for the measurement and evaluation of total quality, review of the global excellence models including the standards, capacities, capabilities and evaluation tools, reviewing the mechanisms of measurement of the results and capacities, differentiation between the effectiveness and efficiency of capabilities and capacities, acquiring the skills of drafting excellence documents, types of excellence evidence, how to deal with excellence evaluators and types of ISO quality specifications.
