The Directorate of Human Resources implemented a number of specialised professional diplomas for the employees of the Government of Sharjah in the Eastern Region, in line with the Directorate’s keenness to consolidate the importance of education and the continuing professional development, as well as to install the culture of spreading specialised professional knowledge by adopting programmes for continuing professional development in the labour sectors and linking them to the career paths. These programmes are considered important given the additional learning provided to the employees about the various knowledges related to their functions and specialties, in order to raise their functional and professional competence and allow them to get familiar with the latest developments in their work field.
The Directorate implemented the professional diploma in environmental inspection targeting the inspectors of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPPA). The diploma covered several courses, such as the principles of biology and microbiology, civil safety and health, water and wastewater, as well as environmental inspection.
Furthermore, the Directorate implemented the foundation programme of the professional diploma in inspection, targeting inspectors at departments, institutions and government bodies. The diploma focuses on several courses and targets, such as food inspection, environmental inspection, occupational health and safety, legislation and laws, in addition to the English language foundation for the employees of the government of Sharjah at all career levels.
The Directorate will also implement the “Crises and Disasters Management” training programme for the government employees, where they will be provided with the knowledge and skills required to develop and apply crises management and build crises management teams, offering suitable solutions and effective strategies when needed.
