Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources celebrated today the International Day of Happiness, which falls on March 20 every year, by organising a series of events and activities at the Directorate’s headquarters and branches in Al Dafin and the Eastern Region in Khor Fakkan and Kalba.
The events of the main branch were opened at Al-Liya in the presence of Directors of Departments, Heads of Sections, officials and employees. They contained several stands, namely the entertainment and games stand, as well as the “smile” stand through which the Directorate’s employees shared photos on social media, and the happiness coffee stand that added vibrant and positive vibes with the beginning of a new working day.
Some interactive competitions were also held, which brought enthusiasm and joy among the employees, where special gifts were given to the participants, sponsored by several companies participating in Waffer programme that offers discounts to the employees of the government of Sharjah, namely: Bab Al Qasr Hotel and the Medical Guide Centre.
In the branches of the Directorate, and in order to mark this occasion, Abdullah Salem Al Mashawi, Director of Human Resources, inspected several events and activities organised at Al Dafin branch.  He also valued the employees’ initiatives and creative ideas in reviving such occasions that contribute to the creation of positive energy in work environments.
The branches of the Directorate in the Eastern Region in Khor Fakkan and Kalba carried out several participations and distributed cards holding meanings of optimism and positivity and expressing the ideas of employees on how to spread happiness.
The Directorate is keen on a yearly basis to celebrate international occasions in order to engage its employees in all innovations and adopt various initiatives and events that contribute to provide a fertile environment for the growth and investment of human resources and promote positive lifestyles.
His Highness Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadem, Member of the Executive Council, Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, had a say on celebrating the Day of Happiness and pointed out that Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources attaches great importance to the consolidation of the culture of happiness in Sharjah environment, which is evident in its slogan (Smile, you are in Sharjah). This is the timeless and eternal call in the smiling Emirate towards positivity, optimism and genuine happiness.
He also stated that the Directorate is keen to raise the levels of happiness among its employees as it believes in the close correlation between productivity and happiness and the impact of job well-being on the success of institutions. He emphasized on the Directorate’s efforts exerted in all the areas of work, targeting various segments of society, to reflect the visions and aspirations of the government of Sharjah in establishing the foundations of happiness in the Emirate and the happiness of all citizens.
