Graduation of (253) Participants in Professional Diplomas at the Eastern Region

The Directorate of Human Resources at the Government of Sharjah organised, in coordination and cooperation with the University of Sharjah, a graduation ceremony for (253) participants in professional diplomas’ programmes from the Eastern Region of Sharjah, including the cities of Khor Fakkan, Kalba and Dibba Al Hisn at the branch of the University of Sharjah in Khor Fakkan.
The ceremony was attended by HE Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadem, member of Sharjah Executive Council, Chairman of the Directorate of Human Resources, Dr. Radi Al Zubaidi, Director of the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development at the University of Sharjah, Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Director of Branches Affairs Department at the Directorate of Human Resources, Dr. Ali Obaid Al Zaabi, Vice Assistant Chancellor of Financial and Administrative Affairs at the University, Khor Fakkan Branch, several employees of government entities and a number of job seekers from the Eastern Region.
The aim of the Diplomas is to develop the human factors as one of the most important priorities set within the strategies of the Government of Sharjah, as per the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, member of the Federal Supreme Council and Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, may God preserve him. This vision consists of developing the knowledge, skills and capabilities of our national cadres to keep abreast of the local and global developments and challenges based on the National Plan 2017-2021.
 Thus, the Directorate of Human Resources took the initiative to apply professional diplomas for all administrative and technical specialties, in cooperation and coordination with the University of Sharjah, as the latter is considered an educational and cultural hub and one of the prestigious universities globally, in order to qualify and train the necessary competencies that are able to cope with the current and future challenges under the sustained development, and that by applying integrated professional diplomas that would contribute to the comprehensive development of all job seekers from the Eastern Region.
This would require the preparation of a human capital that is suitable for these changes, by training job seekers and developing their knowledge and skills necessary for the scientific and technological development, providing the human resources with expertise and knowledge, improving and developing their skills and abilities, which would help the job seekers perform effectively in their future jobs and then increase their productivity and contribute to their employment after qualifying them through the required professional diplomas in the labour market.
The professional diplomas in 2018 embraced (13) participants in the field of legal affairs, (19) participants in Human Resources, (22) in Nursery Supervision, (24) in Social Work, (20) in Advanced IT, (17) in Tourist Guidance, (19) in Government Communication and Electronic Media, (23) in Banking Services, in addition to the application of the National Programme for Employment Development, and all targeting (53) male and female nationals from various cities in the Eastern Region.
The Diplomas covered, during the period from January 1, 2019 until January 28, 2019, (43) job seekers.
At the end of the ceremony, HE Dr. Tariq bin Khadem, Chairman of the Directorate of Human Resources, expressed his sincere gratitude to the University of Sharjah, represented by the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development and all government entities that participated in the Professional Diplomas Programme, as well as all employees and job seekers participating in the programme, wishing them success in their educational and practical lives
