Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources Launches Summer Training 2019 Programme for Students in Government Entities

On Sunday July 15, Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources launched the Summer Training 2019 Programme for students of schools and universities, which is being held in partnership with Sharjah government agencies, departments and authorities. The Programme provides training opportunities for students in all the job sectors in such entities.
The Directorate coordinated with the partners in the Programme, including agencies, institutions and departments of the Government of Sharjah, which received the student trainees at their headquarters. The students have been distributed in the government entities based several criteria, mainly their specialisation requirements, the need of the entity providing the training opportunity, and the extent to which the opportunity matches the aspirations of students and is convenient for their place of residence, as each student receives the training at the headquarters of the entity which the closest to their palace of residence.
The Programme will run for four consecutive weeks from July 14 to August 8, with the participation of (312) students from Grade 10 to Grade 12, and students of universities and colleges of various specialisations.
The Directorate coordinates the training of the students in all the job sectors of Sharjah Government entities, departments and institutions participating in the Programme, which reached 30 entities, namely: Directorate of Human Resources, Sharjah International Airport Authority, Economic Development Department, Department of Culture, Department of Seaports and Customs, Social Services Department, Islamic Affairs Department, Central Finance Department, Information and eGovernment Department, Department of Suburbs and Rural Affairs, Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs Department, Environment and Nature Reserves Authority, Roads and Transport Authority, Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, Commerce & Tourism Development Authority, Sharjah Municipality, Al Hamriya Municipality, Maliha Municipality, Sharjah Institute for Heritage, Sharjah Media Council,  Sharjah Book Authority, Free Zone Authority, Prevention and Safety Authority, Women Sports Foundation, Sharjah Maritime Museum, Sharjah Youth, Sharjah Department of Quran and Sunnah, Real Estate Registration Department, and Family Development Centres.
The Directorate is keen to organise the Summer Training Programme during summer for students to fill their free time with what is useful for them and for their community, and to develop cognitive abilities and refine their personalities through exposure to work environments. Furthermore, the Programme will develop their sense of responsibility and help them acquire skills and experiences that will help them engage in work in the future.
The Training Programme represents a perfect opportunity to enhance self-confidence of the students, allow them to form an initial idea of the academic direction that is suitable for them, prepare them to join the employment and business world, reach a certain level of professional knowledge and get acquainted with the work environment in a realistic way.
Dr. Tariq Sultan Bin Khadim, member of Sharjah Executive Council and chairman of the Directorate of Human Resources has stressed that the Department is keen to continue the implementation of the Summer Training Programme that is focused on young people. He pointed out the crucial developmental role of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, may God protect him, as to the care for the young people. His Highness was keen to adopt and support all initiatives and approaches that are focused on this important community segment.
He noted that the Summer Training Programme adopted annually by the Department goes in line with its vision to support and empower young Emirati cadres, translates its policy of Emiratisation of skills and activates its leadership role in the country.
He added that the Programme focuses on helping the students acquire the skills and experiences that enable them to set their goals and priorities in practical life and in the post-graduation phase. The Programme also helps them identify job requirements through direct work experience, and build specialties and professional tendencies accordingly.
He said that the Directorate serves as a connection between students and government entities, as it helps them get appropriate summer training opportunities and become well-prepared to efficiently enter the employment world. It also plays an important role in supporting the efforts of educational and academic guidance institutions in clarifying the future vision of students about the latest developments in the labour market and the leading academic and professional specialisations on the employment level.
He also praised the role of the partners including government entities and institutions in the Emirate, which support the Programme, promote its outputs, and contribute to the qualification of national cadres that will meet the future needs of the labour market.
