The Directorate of Human Resources in Sharjah, represented by Waffer Program providing discounts to the employees of Sharjah government, concluded its events for the month of March 2019, that targeted the government entities and institutions in Sharjah.
The activities in March included exhibitions and promotional events held in the headquarters of government authorities and institutions, to introduce the discounts as well as the entities joining the Program. Many entities hosted the events, namely: Authority of Environment and Natural Reserves, Roads and Transport Authority, Directorate of Town Planning and Survey, Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, Directorate of Public Works, Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and the main building of the Directorate of Human Resources in Al-Liya.
The companies presented during the events their various services offered to the employees, as well as the discount rates, and the manner of making use of them in a way that enhances the concept of saving and budgeting among employees. These events were organised in implementation of the strategic plan of the Directorate of Human Resources to provide the government employees with exclusive and exceptional services in order to make the most of the discounts offered by the companies taking part in Waffer Program.
The events of the month of March were received with interest and great attention by the entities as well as their employees and administrations, that highlighted the importance of periodically holding such promotional events to achieve an appropriate level of awareness about benefiting from the offers and enhancing the culture of saving adopted by the Program.
Waffer Program aims also at raising the level of job satisfaction, achieving social welfare, and offering the best features, discounts and competitive prices to the employees of Sharjah government, besides upgrading the services offered thereto, which is positively reflected on their work productivity, and thus driving the economic growth at the State level.
Furthermore, the Directorate, represented by the Office of Events and Activities, organised an educational day to raise awareness among their female employees about breast cancer and prevention, at its main building in Al-Liya concerned with raising awareness about breast cancer and the importance of its early detection.
The day included various activities and examinations that focused on spreading awareness about the risks of cancer, the importance of its early detection, the diagnosis and treatment of this disease as well as the possibility of healing therefrom by 90% if detected early.
The aim of the event was to raise the level of health education among the female employees and promote health practices. Focusing on the health aspect is considered a priority since it is the basis for investment and the prosperity of the country and an important pillar for development. This collaboration with the Friends of Cancer Patients falls within the framework of partnership and continuous support between governmental institutions and various civil society actors, promoting community contributions between both parties.
